You are invited to showcase your business or school in the Eugene Butler Middle School Economic Showcase in celebration of the 2010 Black History Month theme: The History of Black Economic Empowerment.  At the Showcase, we plan to highlight the businesses in the Jacksonville community that are owned and operated by African American, and highlight educational opportunities to train individuals for business development.  The educational focus of the event will be on the start up (how to get started), the operation (business laws and taxes, etc), and marketing (how to sell your business).  We have invited the students studying research to showcase their own developed business plans. They are starting on their business projects now and will have their own presentations to showcase alongside business displays that are already in operation.  The program will be an interactive one, in which students of the school will explore, ask questions and complete their own assessment of business opportunities in the Jacksonville Area.

We hope you will participate and enjoy this celebration of economic success in the African American community of Jacksonville.  Please keep the following date and time open. We need the community to show our children examples of the positive opportunities, the path to achieve and a face on that success.
